Selecting the correct Differential Pressure Transmitter (DP Transmitter) is essential for achieving accurate measurements and reliable industrial process control. The first step is identifying the measurement purpose. For flow measurement, the transmitter should be matched with the correct primary flow element, including Orifice Plates, Venturi Tubes, Flow Nozzles, or Pitot Tubes. Each device produces different differential pressure characteristics and should be selected according to the process requirements.
For level measurement, factors such as tank height, liquid specific gravity, operating pressure, and installation method should all be considered to ensure accurate level calculation.
Communication requirements should also be evaluated. Standard 4–20 mA output remains the most common choice, while HART, Modbus, and RS485 protocols provide additional flexibility for advanced PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems.
Finally, selecting an experienced supplier with strong technical support can simplify system design and improve long-term reliability.
